Hi and welcome back to my blog,
I’d like to start off by saying a big thank you to Tawni and Daniel Katayama for choosing me to take their maternity photographs. My partner and I recently welcomed our first baby to the world and I know how important it is to capture these moments of love and excitement (and the baby bump) before the little one arrives.
For this maternity session, we went to one of my favorite photography locations, Oneloa Beach. It’s a beautiful Hawaiian beach in West Maui, with pale golden sand, black lava rock at each end and a deep, dark blue color to the ocean—it's a combination of colors that offers great contrast in my photographs. For outdoor pregnancy photos, it’s a phenomenal place to shoot because it’s such a quiet beach it feels intimate and almost private.
As you can see from Tawni and Daniel’s pictures, the light was perfect on the evening that we worked together. The golden tones from the Maui sunset gave everything a nice glow and the couple, well…you can see how happy and in love they are and they definitely had a natural glow going on too.
Thanks again to the Katayamas and the soon-to-arrive baby Sage. I had so much fun working with you guys.
Enjoy some of the photographs below. Aloha for now, Rodrigo.
