I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
As this is my last blog post of the year, I’d like to take the opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has supported Rodrigo Moraes Photography in 2016. It has long been a dream of mine to have a career where I can tell stories through my pictures and now that the dream is a reality, I couldn't be happier.
To my amazing friends and family, my clients, wedding vendors, wedding planners and coordinators, to fellow photographers, photo assistants and second photographers, thank you SO much for all your support and encouragement. It has been an amazing year of growth and I am already very excited to see what 2017 will bring!
One of my final shoots of 2016 was with Katelyn and Bobby and what a nice end to the year it was. Working with newly-engaged couples and having them share their excitement and anticipation about the wedding is awesome and—as repeat visitors to my blog will already know—I love photographing love. You really can’t beat capturing moments of love and happiness on Maui!
Katelyn and Bobby were visiting from California and they gave me the freedom to choose the time and the location for their portrait session. I decided we should meet at sunset (when the natural light is perfect) at Oneloa Beach in Kapalua, which is one of my favorite spots on the West side of Maui.
I was very honored to find out that I was the first photographer to ever work with this couple! When I get feedback along the lines of “Oh my god, it was so much easier than we anticipated,” I know I must be doing my job well!
I often shoot families or couples who are a little nervous in front of the camera but you'll see that I am a very laid-back guy and I will help you feel comfortable during your shoot. My goal is to get the most natural-looking pictures possible and of course, I want you to have fun too!
I love how these pictures came out, Katelyn and Bobby's happiness really shines through. Here are a few of my favorite frames from our session.
Happy New Year everyone!
