Cheri & Rich

Aloha friends,

I’m now back on Maui after a wonderful vacation, where I enjoyed spending quality time with my family and everyone got to hold the baby and meet Annie. I love traveling and the three of us had such a great trip but I must admit, once the vacation is over it’s always so nice to get back. It really eases the post-vacation blues when Maui is your home!

Early January I got to photograph the lovebirds you see below, Cheri and Rich, who were visiting from Arizona.

This was such a perfect Maui wedding—blue skies, a beautiful beachfront ceremony, an awesome sunset and so much love in the air. Everyone had the biggest smiles on their faces, what a happy day.

The bride and groom booked me for three hours and, as you can see from the pictures, this gives me a good amount of time to shoot the location/scenery, the wedding ceremony and group shots including the bridal party, groomsmen and family, plus memorable moments such as the newlyweds' first dance and cutting the wedding cake. It even gives me time to capture things that really shouldn't be missed, such as place settings, the wedding bouquet, the musicians and more. So much thought goes into preparing these finer details, it would be a shame if they weren't properly documented to look back on in years to come.

I was honored that, in addition to shooting their big day, Cheri and Rich also asked me to do a day-after beach photography session, including romantic Maui beach shots and Trash the Dress.

These sessions are a lot of fun and I love it when clients choose this option—you get to switch up the location, it’s a lot more intimate and everyone is nice and relaxed, following the intense energy of the wedding itself. Even though it was a cold day (by Maui standards) in Kapalua, the pictures came out really well and I’m stoked with the Trash the Dress images! It was so great and easy to work with these two, we had such a good time.

Before I go, if you are getting hitched on Maui and you are interested in adding Trash the Dress pictures to your ideal wedding checklist, please feel free to contact me to discuss booking and prices. Normally I can be hired for one, three and six hour increments but I can always add on extra hours for day-after photography sessions and/or I can develop a tailor-made package to suit your needs. It’s your big day, let’s make your dreams happen!

Aloha for now, enjoy the pictures, Rodrigo
